The United States of America is massive but you can go to any town and ask the local fishermen for the best spot and you'll end up with a hundred different answers. Everyone has their own favorite fishing hole, and I won't disparage local passion but some fishing opportunities are universally agreed to be among the very best. Now, we have provided sites that will provide fishing charts and maps, but today we will outline the top 10 best fishing spots in the United States and just why they are so renowned.

Florida Keys, Florida

When the idea for this best fishing spots in the United States blog popped into my head, the Florida Keys was at the forefront of my brain. To be fair, the Florida Keys are basically always rolling around in my head in some capacity. Whether you're fishing the backcountry swamps or the warm Gulf Stream of the Atlantic, you're sure to pull in something amazing if you manage to get a bite!

Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

You can rent a charter boat and chase after bonitos and false albacore here, but even if you're not willing to splash any cash it's easy enough to cast your line into the waves and pull in a few striped bass. Martha's Vineyard has earned its name as a highlight of the north-east.

Thousand Islands, New York

Way upstate in New York you'll find 1800 tiny islands surrounded by thousands of freshwater fish. In the summertime particularly, it is a fantastic experience. You can catch bass, salmon, walleye, northern pike and muskellunge. Those muskies can grow up to 60 inches, so you'll want to ensure that you come prepared.

Kobuk River, Alaska

I wouldn't recommend heading toward Alaska without an experienced hand to guide you. Lake of the Woods in Minnesota is absolutely rife with walleye and, if you can brave the weather, you're in for a premium fishing spot.

While Better Boat's home-state of Florida topped the 10 best fishing spots in the United States list, my own state of California didn't manage a mention... UNTIL NOW! Bishop, California is my personal bonus entry. Tons of streams and plenty of California golden trout, rainbows, bass, catfish, and more to be had.
