Instructions: Thread the rod, without the cotter pin in, through your hitch mount and hitch. Insert the cotter pin to secure the rod. Before attaching the lock end, ensure it is unlocked. The silver internal portion should be sticking out from the end. Slide the lock end over the pin and push the silver lock in to fully secure the lock. Pull on the lock end to ensure it does not remove from the pin. Close the slot cover to prevent dirt or water getting into the key end. To release the lock, simply insert the key making sure to line up the key tip when inserting, and twist clockwise a quarter turn. The silver portion will pop out indicating its unlocked.
