APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: First start by removing all surface contaminants with a quality boat cleaner like our Better Boat Soap before application. For optimal performance, apply the Aluminum Cleaner to surfaces that are not warm from sun exposure. Begin at the lower section of the area needing attention to prevent streaking, working your way upward. Liberally apply Better Boat Aluminum Cleaner to the targeted area, being mindful to prevent it from coming into contact with surfaces not meant for cleaning, such as trailers or stainless steel parts, cleaning and rinsing off any accidental spills at once. Distribute the cleaner uniformly with a brush or a cleaning pad. Let the cleaner set for three to five minutes prior to washing it off completely with clean water. This cleaner operates by initiating a chemical interaction with untreated aluminum. The appearance of a white haze is part of the normal process, indicating that the cleaner is lifting the stains and tarnish from the aluminum’s surface, ready to be scrubbed away. For persistent stains, a repeat application and additional scrubbing with a stiff brush or cleaning pad may be necessary. Ensure the cleaner does not dry on the surface under treatment. For enhanced luster and protection we recommend finishing with our Better Boat Aluminum Polish.
